Jason Momoa and John Cena are set to share the screen in a new movie. Both actors have been cast in an action-comedy film called “Killer Vacation,” per Variety. The script for “Killer Vacation” will be written by Mark and Brian Gunn, who also wrote the script for Dwayne Johnson’s “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” and “Brightburn.” Specific details about the plot remain under wraps, but we do know it’s set to be a blend of action and comedy, and sources told Variety that Cena and Momoa were inspired to work together after discovering their “natural chemistry” on the set of the final Fast & Furious movies. Reps for both actors did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment.
Momoa and Cena last worked together on the upcoming second-to-last movie in the Fast & Furious franchise, “Fast X.” Momoa will play a villain in the film, whom he described as a “very flamboyant bad boy” in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. In 2023, Momoa will also star in the second installment of “Aquaman,” titled “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.” Meanwhile, Cena recently starred in HBO Max’s “Peacemaker” series, based on his character in 2021’s “The Suicide Squad.” Momoa made an uncredited cameo in “Peacemaker,” per TVLine, showing up as Aquaman along with several other DC superheroes.
