Just a couple of weeks after announcing she’s expecting, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” star Sophia Grace Brownlee has shared another pregnancy update with her fans. This time around, the 19-year-old revealed the sex of her baby.
“I am having a boy!” she revealed in a Nov. 5 YouTube video. “When I first found out that I was having a boy, I honestly wasn’t shocked, because I just felt like from the start that I was going to be a boy mom.”
While her fans may remember her best as the adorable tot who performed Nicki Minaj‘s “Super Bass” with her cousin, Rosie McClelland, on “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” Brownlee is all grown up now. On Oct. 22, the 19-year-old announced on her YouTube channel that she is pregnant with her first child.
Posing alongside pink and blue balloons, Brownlee said, “I am here to tell you guys that I am pregnant.” The YouTuber shared that while she was “shocked” when she first found out, she’s “super, super happy about it.” She continued, “So I am 21 weeks today, and the reason why I left it so long is because I always want to make sure that everything’s completely fine and that everything’s safe.”
Not long after Brownlee made her announcement, McClelland congratulated her older cousin on Instagram. The 16-year-old pop singer posted a photo of her and Brownlee hugging in her Instagram Story alongside a sweet caption outlining which baby duties she’ll be happy to help with (and which ones she’d rather pass on for now). “Together forever, words can’t explain this feeling!” she wrote. “So excited for this next chapter, here for you will buy milk, babysit, but I don’t think I can change a nappy just yet 😂 love you so much.”
McClelland went on to share the photo again on her grid, where she revealed it was taken the moment her cousin told her she was pregnant. “This photo was the moment Sophia told me she was pregnant (as you can see I am crying),” she wrote. “Congratulations to my beautiful cousin Sophia on the news of your pregnancy! To say I’m excited is a understatement, I can’t wait to share this whole new chapter with you and be by your side watching you be the best mum ever! Love you so so much 💗💙💗💙💗💙.”
Brownlee responded by resharing the photo to her Instagram Story and writing, “love you,” beside an infinity-sign emoji. She also commented on her cousin’s grid post, adding, “Love you sm, you have always been the best cousin to me ❤️❤️❤️.”
In 2011, Brownlee and McClelland, rose to fame after performing Minaj’s “Super Bass” on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” The duo went on to make a number of appearances on DeGeneres’s talk show over the years and quickly became child stars. They even went on to star in the 2014 film “Sophia Grace & Rosie’s Royal Adventure.”
Now Brownlee is embarking on a totally new adventure, and it’s one she’s looking forward to sharing with the fans who have grown up with her over the years. However, one detail she’s not ready to reveal is the identity of the baby’s father, although she told E! News he’s very much a part of her life.
“It’s part of both of us really,” she said. “We both have just as much to do with the situation as each other. I definitely owed it to tell him straightaway. Because I have always been in the spotlight, I feel like I want something just to keep to myself. Just something that I can keep private and that I can just enjoy myself and not have to share it with everyone.”
