Demi Lovato‘s love life is heating up. On Aug. 8, People confirmed the “Skin of My Teeth” singer is in a new relationship — their first public romance since her breakup with her ex-fiancé, Max Ehrich, in September 2020. “It’s a really happy and healthy relationship,” a source close to Lovato said at the time. “He’s a super great guy.”
According to the source, Lovato’s new partner is a fellow musician, though his name is still unknown. Lovato fueled the mystery behind their beau in a Nov. 21 Instagram post captioned, “Swipe left so [sic] see how hot my boyfriend is,” but has yet to share details about how they met or how long they’ve been dating. A rep for Lovato did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment about her new romance.
Lovato, who began dating Ehrich in March 2020, announced her engagement to the actor on July 22, 2020, five months after they made their relationship public. “You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself,” Lovato captioned the since-deleted post. “I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!!”
Before dating Ehrich, Lovato was romantically linked to model Austin Wilson. The pair made their relationship Instagram official in November 2019 but decided to part ways in December. At the time of the split, a source told People, “[Demi’s] concentrating on herself and her work right now, as well as focusing on her relationship with God. She’s excited for what this next chapter in 2020 will bring.”
Prior to meeting Wilson and Ehrich, Lovato was also in a six-year relationship with Wilmer Valderrama, who she began dating when she was 18. “When I turned 18 we started dating,” Lovato says in their 2017 documentary, “Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated.” “I think it was love at first sight, we connected on a level that I’ve never connected with anybody before, he was just my rock, my everything.” In 2016, the two announced that they were breaking up in joint posts on Twitter. “This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends. We will always be supportive of one another,” they captioned the posts.
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer’s relationship history also includes Joe Jonas, Trace Cyrus, Mike Johnson from “The Bachelor,” Enfants Riches Déprimés designer Henry Levy, UFC fighter Luke Rockhold, and more.
