Finding Purpose in Career Coaching and Workplace Advocacy

Dr. Taylor’s work as a Career and Executive Coach began with a clear understanding of how many professionals feel stuck in their jobs, longing for purpose and fulfillment. Whether it’s burnout, lack of meaning, or uncertainty about their path, she recognized that many individuals needed more than just a job—they needed to feel connected to their work in a deeper way, especially those passionate about creating social impact.

“I encountered so many people who wanted more than just work—they wanted careers that aligned with their values and helped them create positive change,” says Dr. Taylor. “That’s what led me to expand WORxK Solutions, where we provide the tools and resources for social impact professionals to become changemakers in their industries.”

Through WORxK Solutions, Dr. Taylor has helped countless professionals redefine their career journeys. Her coaching emphasizes leadership development, social impact strategies, career branding, and building emotional resilience. By helping individuals align their careers with their personal values and their desire to make a difference, Dr. Taylor’s coaching services are about more than just career advancement—they’re about creating careers that are fulfilling and socially impactful.

Empowering Social Impact Professionals to Succeed

One of Dr. Taylor’s most significant achievements has been the relaunch of CareerCoachRx, a signature coaching program designed specifically for professionals who want to make an impact while advancing their careers. Whether someone is striving for a leadership role, transitioning to the social impact sector, or seeking to build influence as a changemaker, CareerCoachRx provides personalized coaching that focuses on career strategy, leadership, and emotional resilience.

This program also integrates the REBT DEIA Framework, which teaches social impact professionals how to foster inclusive leadership and create emotionally intelligent workplaces. Through CareerCoachRx, participants learn how to stand out in competitive fields while staying true to their values and driving real-world change.

“Career success is about more than climbing the corporate ladder,” says Dr. Taylor. “It’s about becoming a changemaker and learning how to lead others toward making a lasting impact in their communities and industries. CareerCoachRx is the prescription for creating that kind of meaningful career.”

The Prescription for Social Impact Professionals

As part of CareerCoachRx, Dr. Taylor introduced the Brace for Impact Program, a resource-driven initiative designed to provide social impact professionals with the tools they need to thrive and lead meaningful change. Two key resources in this program are:

  • Rx for Standing Out Guide: This guide helps social impact changemakers develop strong personal brands that reflect their commitment to making a difference. It offers practical advice on building a memorable professional identity, networking with purpose, and positioning oneself as a leader in the social impact space. The guide is available for download at WORxK Solutions.
  • Rx for Workplace Resiliency Guide: Building resilience is critical for professionals working in social impact, where challenges and setbacks are common. This guide provides actionable strategies for managing stress, maintaining focus, and cultivating resilience, ensuring that changemakers can continue driving positive outcomes while staying grounded in their purpose.

These tools reflect Dr. Taylor’s belief that social impact professionals must not only stand out but also maintain the resilience needed to thrive over the long term while leading meaningful change.

Empowerment on a New Stage: Pageants as a Platform for Social Impact

In a surprising twist, Dr. Taylor has ventured into the world of beauty pageants, using it as an unexpected platform for empowerment and social impact. She was recently selected as Ms. Black Germantown, MD USA, and will compete in the Maryland state pageant in November. While some may view pageants as unrelated to her work, for Dr. Taylor, pageantry represents an opportunity to further advocate for resilience, leadership, and social impact.

“The pageant world has given me an incredible way to amplify my message of building resilient, inclusive environments where changemakers can truly thrive,” explains Dr. Taylor. “It’s been an exciting journey, and I’m honored to use this platform to support the things I’m passionate about.”

Through her pageant participation, Dr. Taylor plans to continue to advocate for mental health, leadership, and inclusivity, reaching new audiences with her empowering message.

Founding the Strategic Alliance for African American Female Entrepreneurs (SAAFE)

In March 2024, Dr. Taylor extended her social impact work by founding the Strategic Alliance for African American Female Entrepreneurs (SAAFE). SAAFE is a community designed to support Black women in entrepreneurship, offering resources, networking opportunities, and mentorship to help them grow their businesses and expand their impact. Since its launch, SAAFE has grown to over 550 women in the Greater Washington, DC area, creating a thriving network of Black women entrepreneurs.

“SAAFE was created to provide a space where Black women entrepreneurs can connect, grow, and support one another,” says Dr. Taylor. “We’re building a strong community that fosters collaboration and celebrates the successes of African American women who are creating change through entrepreneurship.”

Inspiring the Next Generation: Colorful Careers in Healthcare

Not limiting her work to professionals, Dr. Taylor, alongside her sister Dr. Karen Taylor, co-authored a children’s coloring book titled Colorful Careers in Healthcare. The book introduces children to various careers in the healthcare industry, sparking curiosity and inspiring future changemakers in the medical field. This unique approach has made the book a hit with children, parents, and teachers.

“Colorful Careers in Healthcare is about showing kids that they can make a difference by pursuing rewarding careers in healthcare,” Dr. Taylor says. “We wanted to introduce them to the many exciting paths available, especially for those who want to create a lasting impact on the world.”

The book’s success highlights the importance of nurturing career inspiration from an early age, encouraging future generations of changemakers.

Expanding Her Reach: Books, Podcasts, and More

Dr. Taylor’s work doesn’t stop at coaching, pageants, and women’s empowerment. She is also preparing for Season 2 of the WORxK Solutions Podcast, which will launch in early 2025. The podcast will cover topics relevant to career development, leadership, DEIA, social impact, and workplace culture, offering actionable insights for professionals seeking to grow their influence and create meaningful change.

WORxK Magazine is set to launch in Q1 of 2025, featuring in-depth articles on career growth, leadership, and workforce trends, with a focus on social impact and resilience. It aims to provide professionals with the practical tips they need to succeed while leading positive change in their organizations.

Dr. Taylor is also preparing to release several new books throughout 2025, followed by a virtual book tour where she will share her insights on leadership, career resilience, and personal branding for changemakers.
