Los Angeles-based indie-dance artist veggi releases his new single, “TASTE,” featuring Rome Castille via Too Future.
Talking about working with Rome Castille, veggi says, “During my first session with Rome, we were just messing around with some beats I had cooked up, creating demos and whatnot. When I showed him the ‘TASTE’ beat, the ideas just went flying. By the end of that session, we basically created the whole song, and with a few follow-up sessions to polish it up, we knew we had a banger on our hands. He is so talented, and it was so awesome getting to do this record with him.”
veggi grew up in SoCal immersed in music, followed by mastering both guitar and saxophone prior to plunging into production. With his ear for melody and his gift for composition, veggi’s sound reveals ethereal soundscapes, organic instrumentation, and beguiling vocals.
With more than 1.3 million followers on TikTok, along with over 150 million views, veggi’s sounds have been used and shared by artists such as Kevin Abstract, Remi Wolf, Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine, and Amine on social media.
In 2022, veggi released his EP, LIQUID, featuring tracks like the hip-house “EXCEPTIONAL” with DijahSB and “RAINCLOUDS” with Ben Beal and KhakiKid. LIQUID amassed more than 5 million collective streams.
At the current juncture, veggi is rolling out his new project, PRODUCE, featuring a number of collaborators, as well as kicking off his debut headline tour of North America.
“TASTE” opens on a potent, thumping kick drum topped by melodic, rapping-lite vocals as gleaming, pulsing synths push out contagious washes of sound. A dazzling, evocative falsetto gives the lyrics luminous tones. The feel and flow of the tune deliver a delicious blend of hip-house.
